More Information
Child Seat Safety Program
The Noblesville Police Department has certified officers that are trained as Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians. Citizens can schedule an appointment to have one of these officers demonstrate the proper procedure for installing and removing a child passenger safety seat from their vehicle(s). The officers will demonstrate the proper procedure for installation based upon the child safety seat instructions and the instructions from the vehicle's owner's manual.
Inspections are done by appointment and consist of either a full installation or a safety check of a currently installed car seat. The full installation will generally take about an hour and the safety check appointments take approximately fifteen minutes. The inspections are typically done at the Noblesville Street Department (1575 Pleasant St). The purpose of an inspection is to teach parents, grandparents and other caregivers the proper way to install child safety seats. Because vehicle styles and child safety seats differ, various approved methods of installation are used. There is no cost for an inspection. Please complete this on-line form to make your appointment.
