The Levinson
PROJECT: The Levinson
TIMELINE: A ribbon cutting was held on October 1, 2021.
BACKGROUND: The Levinson provides the first new apartments in Downtown Noblesville in 100 years. The Levinson’s name is a tribute to the Levinson family, one of the first Jewish families in Noblesville, whose homestead was on the property where the development is being built, just south of the east-west alley on Eighth Street. The family was known for being charitable, but it was the eldest son of the Levinson family, S.O. Levinson, a Noblesville High School graduate and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, who, nearly 80 years ago, donated the land to the city. The land would later be used for City Hall before it was moved to its current site on South 10th Street.
TYPE: Mixed-use development
- 75 market-rate and 10 affordable-rate studio, one- and two-bedroom modern apartments
- 5,100 square feet of retail space
- 4-level parking garage with 299 spaces
DEVELOPER: This is a public-private project between Rebar Development and the City of Noblesville. Hagerman Inc. and Edwards-Rigdon Construction will build the project and garage.
ESTIMATED COST: $25 million
LOCATION: The Levinson will be half a city block in Downtown Noblesville. It will be located between South 8th and South 9th streets, and Maple Avenue and the east-west alley south of Conner Street.
COUNCIL DISTRICT: 3 (Aaron Smith)
