PROJECT: Little Chicago Road Pedestrian Bridge

TIMELINE: Construction begin mid-April 2024. The roadway opened to traffic at the end of 2024; however, construction continues with flaggers when work is being done. Trail connection to the bridge will be completed in Spring 2025.

    PROJECT GOALS: Increased pedestrian connectivity and bridge rehabilitation. In partnership with Hamilton County, the approximately 50-year-old existing bridge over Morse Reservoir will be significantly rehabilitated for good long-term maintenance and widened to accommodate the new trail.

    OWNER: The city has partnered with Hamilton County to rehabilitation the existing bridge at the same time the bridge is widened for the trail to minimize impacts.

    ENGINEER: USI Consultants

    CONTRACTOR: Pontem Contractors

    CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION: BEAM, LONGEST and NEFF (BLN)

    SCOPE: Construct 10-foot pedestrian path along Little Chicago Road from Elderberry Drive to Carrigan Road, including a new pedestrian structure over Morse Reservoir.

    MILEAGE: 0.2 miles

    ESTIMATED COST: The City of Noblesville has received a $4.5 million federal grant for this project and is partnering with Hamilton County to rehabilitate the bridge as part of this project.
