The Noblesville Police Department will host its 3rd Annual National Night Out event from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 6 at Federal Hill Commons, 175 Logan Street. This year’s event is presented by Martin & Martin Insurance.
“This has always been a popular event in the past and we look forward to another great turnout this year,” said Sgt. Matt McGovern, event organizer. “Children are often interested about police work and this is a great way for kids to see who we are and interact with the vehicles we use. It’s also a great opportunity for adults to ask questions and find out what services we provide.”
Guests at this year’s event can learn about crime scene evidence collection and crime prevention information, experience the “Drunk Googles,” and see the department’s boat, bicycle, motorcycle and SWAT vehicles. The NPD information tent will have materials on bullying, cyber safety, identity theft and home safety – along with stickers and dog tags. Other activities for children include inflatable bounce houses, a Dunk-A-Cop dunk tank and a Race-A-Cop bicycle race. Free hotdogs, popcorn and water will be available while supplies last.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
“This event provides a great opportunity to bring police and residents together under positive circumstances,” said Noblesville Police Chief Kevin Jowitt. “The safety of our community depends on both law enforcement and the neighbors they serve. National Night Out enhances that cooperation.”
